The Birthplace of American Artisanal Cheese
Registration is open for the 2017 Massachusetts Cheese Festival. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, November 4 from 11 am - 4:30 pm at the Armory on Highland Avenue in Somerville. The event's theme is Massachusetts: The Birthplace of American Artisan Cheese, and we'll focus on the history and heritage of dairy farming and cheesemaking in the Commonwealth.
Because last year's event was such a success, with tickets sold out months in advance, we've decided to expand this year! We'll admit guests in two sessions, from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm and 2:00 - 4:30 pm. We anticipate a crowd of at least 600 attendees, and plan to offer more door prizes, education sessions, and samples. All FOOD vendors will be able to sample and sell your products that pair well with our award-winning cheeses. Our ALCOHOL partners can sample and will have the opportunity to sell for on-site consumption through the Armory bar. If you're interested in pursuing a permit to sell wine or cider for off-premises consumption, you'll need to apply with the City of Somerville and begin that process as soon as possible.
In an effort to show off as many unique local offerings as possible, we will allow just two Pairing Partners per category—so first come, first served! We’re only inviting the best to join us! Registration will remain open exclusively for our current Massachusetts Cheese Guild members only until June 15, at which point we will be reaching out to new vendors to join our event.
A 6-foot table with tablecloth, event website listing, social media promotion, and publicity are included in your registration fee.
