Implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) will take place from September, 2016 to September, 2018. All facilities that produce, process or hold food for human consumption, including cheesemaking facilities, must comply with FSMA by preparing and implementing a Food Safety Plan. These plans *must* be administered by a "Preventive Controls Qualified Individual" (PCQI) who has completed training in the development/application of such controls or is "otherwise qualified through job experience" to do so. It is important to understand that an existing HAACP plan may not fully satifsy the FSMA food safety requirements.

This 20-hour course uses the only curriculum currently recognized by FDA for training and certification of PCQIs. Completion of the training will ensure that you can fulfill critical FDA requirements for FSMA compliance. All participants who complete the training will receive official certification of PCQI status.

The class fees include lunch and beverage breaks for all three days. For more information, visit http://macheeseguild.org/fsma-compliance-training/ or contact Beth Falk, MA Cheese Guild Executive Director, at beth@macheeseguild.org.
